My Children

So all this blogging about photography and projects we have worked on, I decided to write about something different. These two little people are my pride and joy, and are really good little angels. As a mommy I couldn’t be more blessed to have these special people as my own.

Joshua is my eldest, his 4 years old turning 5 this year, it is incredible how time flies, he's a very chatty little boy and loves to play with friends, watching cartoons and showing us his latest karate moves. Since he was a toddler he always seems to have a protective streak over me, and now his brother too and I always call him my super hero.

Noel is my baby, he's 2 years old turning 3 this year. His mommy’s little punk; his cute little smile can get him out of any trouble. He likes to bully his brother and run around playing outside, this little Casanova enjoys giving out hugs and kisses. Watch out girls, his gonna be a heartbreaker one day. Lol.

So let’s talk about shooting children, what we all should know by now is that photographing children can be a hard task, because most of the time they're not interested in standing and posing for the camera, but would rather run around and play. Obviously a child is going to have much more fun if they're in a fun surrounding playing. Taking them to a park, the beach, a forestry a botanical garden, it doesn’t matter, this could be used as an amazing backdrop as you have your camera on hand to shoot them as they explore their surroundings and have fun with it.

Another good idea is to get down to eye level with the child, it will not only make them feel comfortable with you, but it is always great to get eye contact in a photograph plus taking on their level and getting their expression that way would naturally look more natural than the photograph you take as you are hovering over them.

And most importantly, always be patient and have fun with them. The more comfortable they are around you the better shots you could produce.

I brought children into this dark world because it needed the light that only a child can bring. ~Liz Armbruster
Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged of man. ~Rabindranath Tagore
Children are unpredictable. You never know what inconsistency they're going to catch you in next. ~Franklin P. Jones
